Cannabis was a medicine before written history and remained a legal medicine until the mid-20th century. However, the controls over cannabis varies from country to country, and the process of reviewing international control has been stymied by support of irreproducible scientific data and an absence of any true critical review of the documents used to support international medical cannabis prohibition.
